The practice of matching two or more pieces of wood so the adjoining surfaces mirror each other
Usually found with live-Edge slabs
Gives the appearance of an open book
Figured Wood
When a piece of wood contains a unique pattern or distinctive marks on its surface
The figure in a piece is partly due to how it’s cut, and other disruptions in normal tree growth
Can add a lot of character to a project
